Had a busy few days while family was in town, we went to my friend's opening Some Kind of Truth at the Smith Center for the Healing Arts. Nice work and very interesting talking with the artists, worth a trip to U street to see the show.
Also saw Cirque Soleil in downtown DC. Visually stunning, although the Washington Post didn't seem to agree.
Speaking of the Post, what a scathing review for the Hirshhorn's 'Recent Sculpture' exhibition. I have yet to see the art, but I personally love the direction the work looks to be taking. I'm not sure the critics quite 'get it' but it seems obvious to me: the building is more important than it's contents...
